the Alchemist is a story based on I named Santiago who is a shepherd boy from the Spanish province. he goes in a journey for treasure which are hidden in the pyramids of Egypt AUTHOR:-
Paulo Coelho is born on August 24 of 1947 in Rio de Janeiro.  He was seventeen when he was admitted in a psychiatric hospital.
He published "the Alchemist" in the year 1988 which was translated into 67 languages and sold 65 million copies CHARACTERS
Santiago - the main character of the book whi explores and travels the world and it's mystery. The Alchemist who is a 200 year old extremely powerful alchemist TheCrystal Merchant who's shop once flourished but now it's completely abandoned. The Englishman who is well educated science student determined to learn the secrets of Alchemy.Fatima who is a beautiful gorgeous desert woman whom Santiago admires and pursuits .Gypsy  woman who interprets dreams, reads palm and uses black magic
This marvelous book  ends with the end of Santiago's journey.
the last line was:"i am coming Fatima"
which tells that he wasn't ready to Stop his journey
In the end pages it can be seen that there was no such treasure hidden in the pyramids.
The real treasure was hidden behind the sycamore tree that he used to lay under. This means that sometimes what we are looking for is right under our nose and we are unable to see it
The author has used a very philosophical way of writing and explaining the scene, where each of the charao symbolises something or the other
The theme of this book is that all individuals should live in the singular pursuit of their individual dreams.
While reading this book i came across various scenes where I got lost in the pages
I would recommend this book to anyone who is open to philosophy and understands it well
